What's at stake...

This speech might be the best articulation I've seen yet of the consequences of capitulation in Iraq or the War on Terror. Winston Churchill III appears to have inherited his grandfather's gift. Every Westerner should read it.

I didn't really get his argument to keep Turkey from the EU...it sounded pretty xenophobic to me.

Well, for starters, if Turkey becomes a member of the EU, then the other member countries lose all controls over immigration. Citizens of EU countries can move within the union with little to no restriction. A growing number of Europeans worry about the political and social opinions of the Muslim population that already lives there: one that has generally refused to assimilate and bears hostility toward the West's traditionally liberal beliefs. The cartoon controversy and the recent riots in Paris have only stoked the flames. I'd be skeptical too.
