The Canadians had barely thawed out...
...before schooling America's best baseball players at America's national past time on American soil. They went up 8-0 before Team USA brought it back to 8-6.
Someone please stop the bleeding.

It's been a pretty shitty year for American sports. I'm banking on the Basketball World Championships to pull us out of the slump, assuming that we end up losing the WBC.
Hopefully this lights a fire under someone's ass on that team. I've been patiently waiting for Team America (we might as well just start calling it that) to put the hurt on Cuba in the finals.
It's times like this that I'm glad I don't watch baseball. Someone in the office told me how great WBC was and I was actually considering ending my decade old strike, but then this happens. Maybe Barry Bonds should become the team physician and whip them boys into shape.
Oh well, there's always MArch Madness, World Cup Soccer and the NFL draft to look forward to.
March Madness oughta be pretty good this year. Zaga might finally pull it out.
No. Not even I can make that argument. Adam Morrison is a very good player, maybe even a great player but I don't know if we have what it takes to go pass the Sweet 16. I juts hope they end up in the DC bracket;-)
I'm can't wait to set up my brackets this weekend though. hopefully, I can repeat last years perfect first round. If anyone is interested, alison over at Exploitss of a Princess hiker is doing an all blog march mad pool.
The Zags are the perennial disappointment team.
I stopped watching pro baseball except the World Series, I don't like pro sports in general (except tennis).
Thanks for the comment on my blog, good sir. I don't know if I ever congratulated you on your engagement, so if I forgot, congrats!
We totally screwed over Japan today...wow, what a terrible call in the 8th. Oh well.
Rosenleaf, only alumni can talk like that. We've bought and paid for the right to bad mouth the team. But what about that 12 seed for montana that was cool, and yet surprising. I was way more excited about that than GU.
Haha, where's your USA ballcap now? Huh? Probably hiding like a punk in the closet, right? ;)
You should've just given it to me in Ireland. It would've saved you this trouble.
Okay, the USA Hockey hat stands proudly in my living room. Despite our embarrassing loss to the Pseudo-Brits, I'm considering supplementing it with a Team USA baseball hat. Dig that.
Looks like we're about out of the WBC. Ouch.
Jaypan lost to Korea again. There's still hope. All we have to do is beat Mexico. And from what I understand, Roger Clemens is psyched for this game.
